Portfolio

As project editor for AAA Auto Guide: Driving Survival, which was published in 2002, I managed the content in the book. This entailed working closely with the author and graphic artist to ensure the publication met the goals outlined during the book’s conception; adhered to the timeline and budget; and provided readers a compelling, easy-to-understand manual for driving safely.

I completed the final proof for Cinderella on the Couch by Chris Linnares and flagged two plot inconsistencies.

hotsheet I oversaw the publication of Businessline Hotsheet, a weekly newsletter published by AAA's national office for AAA and CAA clubs throughout the United States and Canada.
interchange Among publications for which I have submitted business-related content are Highlights, a monthly newsletter for employees in AAA's national office, and Interchange, a bimonthly magazine for the national office and AAA/CAA clubs.

I have written five articles for International Gymnast magazine, four of which were cover stories. Less than a year after covering my first meet, the 1991 NCAA women's championships, I was tapped to cover the 1992 McDonald's American Cup, which featured many athletes who went on to compete in the same year's Barcelona Olympic Games.

On the referral of International Gymnast magazine, the National Collegiate Athletic Association contacted me to write a feature for the 1997 NCAA women's gymnastics championship meet program. I found several sets of multiples (two sets of twins and one set of triplets) competing at the collegiate level and wrote about their experiences.

Using QuarkXPress, I edited and graphically laid out 10 titles in the AAA Tour Guide series of travel publications.

rrvmomnews As editor of Multiple Minutes, the monthly newsletter of the Red River Valley Mothers of Multiples, I compiled information, authored and edited content, designed the publication and handled all aspects of printing and mailing.

Among other projects I have handled are:

  • Developing and editing marketing materials (e.g., brochures, white papers, Web copy), annual reports and training programs for clients such as Wilson Learning Corp., Flint Communications and Real Property Management.

  • Blogging or developing other fresh content for varied Web sites, including aaa.com, in-forum.com, fertilethoughts.net, rrvmothersofmultiples.org and the now-defunct sneeker.com.
